What We Do
The Work Based Learning Consortium (WBLC) is a Canadian non-profit that helps industries develop skilled tradespeople. Since 2018, WBLC has graduated over 750 tradespeople in partnership with more than 80 Canadian companies. Participants in WBLC programs have a 92% completion and retention rate, compared to around 50% for other training methods. WBLC's hybrid model combines on-the-job training with online courses, allowing trainees to continue working while upskilling. This approach also enables senior employees to mentor junior staff, sharing their expertise using company equipment and materials.
